Death Toll in Louisiana Floods Reaches Ten

Much of Louisiana has suffered serious flooding. The heavy deluge came in the state came from a tropical system that plagued Louisiana for several days. Much of the flooding happened after the rain ended when water overtopped a levee.

The Weather Channel reports that 20,000 people have been rescued from Ascension Parish, Louisiana where nearly a third of all the homes have been flooded from the overtopped levee. A search and rescue mission continues to find people that might be trapped in the flood waters.

The flooding is being called historic. The AP says at least 40,000 homes have been damaged. Take a look:
